Tammy Bays Rose, LCSW

Tammy Bays Rose is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy in a variety of mental health settings, including community mental health, private practice, outpatient substance abuse settings and, most recently, in a university counseling center.  Ms. Rose earned her Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, in 1996 and her clinical license in social work in 1999 (VA). She moved from Virginia to Raleigh in 2005 and has been licensed in North Carolina since early 2006.

Ms. Rose provides individual, family and group therapy to adults and adolescents.  Specific areas of interest include mood disorders (depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder), outpatient substance abuse treatment, family of origin issues, work and school stressors, trauma / abuse, grief / loss, women’s issues, stress management, life transitions / adjustments, emerging adults (particularly college students), work/life balance, and family conflict. 

Ms. Rose offers daytime, some evening and limited Saturday morning hours. Ms. Rose believes strongly that the relationship between the client and therapist is the primary agent for change. She believes in the capacity for each individual client and family to make lasting, positive changes. She sees therapy as a collaborative process and offers a warm, supportive, non-judgmental, interactive, and solution-focused approach. She meets clients where they are individually and interpersonally and helps clients set goals building on their current strengths and resources.
